Agave Nectar

The Organic Natural Sweetner
with the Low GI

At last, there's a real alternative to sugar.
And a natural substitute for those naughty artificial sweetners.

Its tongue-jingling delicious, sweeter than sugar lumps, and you can add it to almost anything without tainting the taste. Even better, it has a low GI content, which means you wont yo-yo your energy levels like sugar cane. Oh, did we mention it is 100% natural, organic, diabetic-friendly, plus cholesterol and fat free too?

Low natural GI, no unnatural high
Down to sugar. Out with artificial sweetners. Thats what we say. Why? Because sugar leaves you buzzing, which might be nice for a while, but once the rush is over, your energy slumps and you are tired again. meanwhile, artificial sweetners can leave you feeling frazzled and fuzzy. And lets face it. Anything artificial is frankly thumbs-down for your body.

Agave on the other hand helps keep your blood sugar levels balanced so there are less buzzes and slumps. How? Well, here is the clever bit. Agave nectar has 76% fructose (fruit sugar) level. Fructose is a slow release carbohydrate, which means the body absorbs it more slowly and doesnt need oodles of insulin (the chemical that triggers sugary 'highs' and 'lows') to break it down.

Sweet indeed. But where did Agave Nectar come from?

From Mexico to your kitchen in a few groovy steps
On a hillside in Mexico lives a blue spikey plant known as the Blue Weber Agave plant. Agave Nectar is originally grown and comes from this plants pineapple-shaped middle.

Our Mexican Groovy Food amigos collect the milky white juice, filter it, heat it a little and then wait. Then wait some more. Then after some time the juice turns to Agave Nectar concentrate (its something to do with enzymes, so they tell us).

Throughout, there is no unnatural meddling. No artificial thingamajigs. No neon colouring. Or brain-fizzing chemicals. Just pure Agave plant nectar. Ready to drizzle and delight your body.

Sweet as you like
Here's some more good news. Agave Nectar is 25% sweeter than sugar. So, because you can use less, you'll cut your calories while still enjoying the same mouth-watering taste of sugar.

Better still, it wont tain or disguise your foods flavour. It keeps things simply delicious, without leaving a bitter aftertaste in your mouth.

Whats more, it stays in peak condition in your cupboard for up to 3 years. Ofd course once you've tasted it, it'll be lucky to last that long.

Stir in. Dollop on. Drizzle over.

Agave Nectar comes in two equally tasty types

Agave Nectar Mild
Filtered longer, and runnier than honey, this light and mild version is perfect for adding to hot or cold food, stirring into drinks, or used for baking.

Agave Nectar Rich
Deliciously dark and tempting, its smooth maple syrup-like flavour is just right for drizzling over food or adding to cooking.
